Researchers have developed a special eye contact lens with biosensors capable of detecting health related issues of the wearer.
The transparent biosensor contact lens will be presented at the world's largest scientific society, National Meeting and Exposition of the American Chemical Society. The lens will help the doctors to monitor glucose level and also to track drug use and serve as an early detection system for cancer and other serious medical condition, according to Sciencedaily.
The bio-sensing eye lens will ease the glucose monitoring system by eleminating the painful process of using electrodes under sking that can cause irritaion or infections.
These biosensor lens could also transmit health information to smartphones and other gadgets enabling the users to track their health issues earlier with accurate detection.
